Nick Robertson

Bio

I'm Nick Robertson, a breaking news reporter at The Hill in Washington, D.C. I cover spot news, focusing on politics, as well as aggregate news nationally, craft SEO and publish extensive enterprise reporting on a wide range of Capitol Hill news and policy reporting.

In 2023, I graduated with a dual degree in Journalism and Political Science from the top-rated S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

While in college, in interned as a politics reporter at the Las Vegas Review-Journal where I covered statewide races including the 2022 primaries.

I've also worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch covering crime, breaking news and business, as well as for Cincinnati Public Radio WVXU covering local politics and election systems.

Previously, I was a politics staff writer for The Daily Orange, the independent student publication at Syracuse University, as well as the publication's editorial editor.

While at WVXU, I broke news that Rep. Thomas Massie had previously flown a confederate flag at his Northern Kentucky home, which was later reported by national news outlets including the New York Times.

My stint at the Post-Dispatch included a three-part series on the rise in drowning deaths in St. Louis County waterways.

In Las Vegas, significant work includes a beat focusing on the election-denying candidates for statewide office in Nevada, among them Secretary of State candidate Jim Marchant, who denied the veracity of the election he won.

As a writer, I focus mostly on political news topics and campaign reporting. My experience varies from covering Trump rallies and riding along in the vice president's motorcade to covering breaking crime news from the scene and filing daily stories for multiple beats.
